Wholesale Forgiveness

When you need milk or shoes, you will likely head for a retail store to purchase a gallon of milk, or a pair of shoes. Most people are accustomed to shopping retail, purchasing what they need as the need arises. And that is how we think God offers us forgiveness, one sin at a time. But when it comes to forgiving sins, God is not in the retail business. He is a wholesaler.

Listen to Colossians 2:13-14.

“And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.”

And listen to Hebrews 10:10, 14.

“By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all….For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.”

Contrary to what most people believe, when a sinner comes to God for salvation from sins, God doesn’t just forgive the sins he is conscious of. Instead, He forgives all of his sins, once for all time, and accepts him forever. This is wholesale forgiveness, covering every sin we have ever committed in the past, and every sin we may commit in the present and in the future.

Child of God, Jesus paid the price for you to receive total forgiveness for all your sins.
The blood of Jesus cancelled, not just some of your sins, but all the sins of your entire life. You are now a forgiven person, forever clean in God’s sight because of the precious blood of God’s Son, which God accepted as full payment for all of your transgressions.

Knowing that you are a forgiven person, completely forgiven of all your sins, past, present, and future, is what makes the Gospel so powerful and liberating. When you know that you have received wholesale forgiveness, your faith rises to a new level and you start to walk in great authority. You also start to enjoy the peace that passes all understanding.

Other religions teach that you have to confess your sins each day to be forgiven. They offer forgiveness on a retail basis. But Christianity is unique. It alone offers forgiveness wholesale.

And that is what you got when you received Jesus as your Savior. Now, because of Jesus’ ministry on your behalf, when you sin, you don’t need to ask God to forgive you in order to be forgiven. You need to believe He already has forgiven you because Jesus has paid the price required in full, and give Him thanks. Then armed with faith because of the revelation of God’s grace, rise up and overcome the devil in His name!

Child of God, be conscious every day of God’s gift of total forgiveness, enjoy the freedom from guilt it gives you, and live in faith and victory because of it. That is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus!

Bishop thank you for a good reminder.

    Precious H.N. Jackson.

  2. this is so true! most of us think of forgiveness as piece meal.
i’ve never though of this illustration “whole sale” to be so effective portrait of God’s total and complete forgiveness.

    great post!

    – grace and peace

  3. When I heard the sermon all I kept thinking was that part of the hymn
‘It is well with my soul’, the part that goes ‘My sin, oh, the bliss
    of this glorious thought!
My sin, not in part but the whole, Is nailed to the cross, and I bear
it no more’; thank you Bishop for this Word!

It sometimes feels like this radical concept but it’s the Word and we
    forget it so often.

  4. Thank God the devil will not use me again to believe that my prayers are not being answered because of my sins. I know they were nailed to the cross and I need not run to confess them each time. This is so good and sweet to know this thank you Bishop for these words of knowledge.

  5. Abe Alfred Kamara Snr,
If you were asked to walk a 2 mile distance and that there will be a vehicle awaiting at the end of the journey to bring you back to your starting point, but after you had walked for a mile, you got angry and decided to walk back, but yet you still actually walked the 2 miles, but with no reward, unlike my JESUS, he is a full wholesale walker and not a halfway retail walker, I am 100% confidnet that my sins were all forgiven the day I made him Lord over my life. Bishop, may the Lord continue to endow you with much deeper revelation and wisdom

  6. Amen and Amen!!!! I wanna get in touch with you!!! such teaching needs to read again and again!!!! you are blessed!!!
