The Sin Solution

140917_The_Sin_Solution_eblastWant to know the solution to sin–to the penalty, power, and presence of sin? It’s not The Ten Commandments. It is not the fear of judgment. It is the revelation of Christ. It is GRACE!

And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. (‭John‬ ‭1‬:‭16-17‬ NKJV)

Moses brought the Law and with it the threat of curses for breaking it. But sin continued to reign. The fear of judgment did not stop sin.

Then Jesus came bringing grace and truth–that is, the truth of Salvation by grace through faith in Him and the religious leaders killed him. The message of grace, instead of law, scared them.

What is it about grace that scares folks? I’ve actually been cautioned by ministers that “even though we know that we are totally forgiven of all our sins, past, present and future, through Jesus, we must be careful how we preach this to the immature Christians because they will use that knowledge to sin.”

Brethren, if we don’t preach the grace of God only, what are we to preach? Law? Mixture? No wonder the body of Christ is in such bad shape. How sad!

Grace is not a doctrine; it is a person.
Grace is Jesus in all His fullness and in all His works.

To distrust grace, therefore, is to distrust Jesus and His finished work. To think that preaching pure grace leads to sin is to believe that preaching only Christ crucified, apart from law, results in sin. How can that be? Are we not complete in Christ? Is faith in Jesus not enough? Must we add our works to His to be secure in Him?

Instead of giving people permission to sin, the revelation of God’s grace accomplishes just the opposite. It is the sin solution!

For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, (Titus 2:11, 12 NIV)

There is only one antidote to sin, and it is not The Ten Commandments. It is pure, unadulterated grace made available through the Gospel to all who hear and believe.

Preach the law to people in order to make them live holy lives and you will strengthen the power of sin in their flesh. It will be impossible for them to overcome.

The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. (I Corinthians 15:56, 57 NKJV)

Preach only the Lord Jesus Christ, the Grace of God, to them and He will give them the victory.

Romans 6:14 reads, For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law, but under grace.”

For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ. (Romans 5:17 NKJV)

Hallelujah! Listen to what the Apostle is saying. Don’t throw the law at sin–that’s like adding gasoline to fire. Don’t use guilt and condemnation to try to get people to stand up and walk straight. That won’t work. Throw grace at sin, and not just a little amount. Let grace superabound.

Men will succeed in overcoming sin under grace, who fail under law. Why? Because the man who is under law is trying to work for God, but the man who is under grace has God working for him!

Child of God, grace, not law, is the sin solution.

  1. Indeed Jesus Christ died on the cross so that LAW won’t be superior to GRACE. Law is flesh, and Grace is Spirit. What helping me today is God’s enabling grace. Thank God for Grace.
