How Grace Empowers You to Overcome
The grace of God is the supernatural tonic you need to live as an overcomer in this world. Grace will abolish the dominion of sin in your life as you surrender to it. It will empower you to say no to all ungodliness and to walk in spiritual authority and power. How?
Here are the three things grace provides that enable you to live victoriously in the Lord;
1. Light
I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness. (John 12:46 NKJV)
But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. (I John 1:7 NKJV)
For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. (II Corinthians 4:6 NKJV)
The message of God’s grace will enlighten your heart with the truth concerning how good God is to you and the wonderful things He has prepared for you. It will show you that you are a beloved child of God, “God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works.” It will cause you to see the goodness of God and the goodness of God will lead you to change your mind about Him and about sin. You will begin to see clearly how incredibly wicked and destructive sin is, but how incredibly awesome righteousness is. And the more clearly you see the truth, the more freedom you will enjoy.
2. Love
And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.” (John 17:26 NKJV)
For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; (II Corinthians 5:14 NKJV)
That Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. (Ephesians 3:17-19 NKJV)
The revelation of God’s “scandalous” grace floods your heart with love for God and for others. And it will motivate you from within to do the things that please the One who loves you so lavishly. The more grace reveals the love of God to you, the more you will be filled with “the fullness of God.” It will produce profound effects on your choices and behavior. Love is far greater than law. Law can only restrain wickedness, but it cannot produce heartfelt obedience. Love, on the other hand, will cause you to be willing to give your life to save the one you love. Law has no power to produce this love, but grace causes this love to be shed abroad in your heart.
3. Life
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. (II Corinthians 5:17 NKJV)
I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. (Galatians 2:20 NKJV)
for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. (Philippians 2:13 NKJV)
The purpose of God’s grace is not to make bad men good, but to make dead men live. Grace imparts life and life overcomes death. The life of Christ within you, not your will-power, is the focus of grace. The grace of God teaches you to rely on this divine life, which you received at salvation, to transform you completely from the inside out. You overcome because you place your faith daily in Christ to live His life for you and through you. You will find yourself hating sin and loving righteousness because “God is working in you both to will and do His good pleasure.”
Child of God, the more you immerse yourself in the doctrines of grace, unearned, unmerited undeserved favor; the less you put confidence in the flesh and rest instead in the sufficiency of grace, the more you will experience victory over the world, the flesh and the devil.
His Grace has made me an overcomer; Glorrryyyyyyyy
