God Is In Love With You
“The entire earth is mine,” says the Lord,,”but you are my treasured possession.” That is, even though I own the earth and everything in it, I prize you more than them all. You are the crown jewel of my creation.
A treasured possession is something most dear to you, not necessarily because it is worth a lot of money, but often because of some personal and emotional reason. Why are we His treasured possession? Why is the Father so personally and emotionally attached to us?
I can think of three reasons:
He created us in His own image–He sees Himself in us.
His Beloved Son gave His life for us.
His Spirit has made His home in us.
What do you do when you lose a treasured possession? You give yourself no rest until you find it. And that’s why when we were lost, God sent His Son to find us and bring us back to Him. He loves us so much, He was willing for Jesus to give His life, just to get us back.
What do you do when you have lost a treasured possession and you recover it? You set it apart. You keep your eyes on it. You make sure you never lose it again.
God lost you once. He is not going to lose you a second time. He has set you apart. He will never take His eyes off you. And He will never let you go; never!
Child of God, I hope you know how special you are to our Heavenly Father. I hope you know how much He cares. I hope you know He is in love with you. I hope you know; I hope you really know.
