It Is Jesus I Need
“I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man can come to the Father but through Me.” Who would dare make such an outrageous claim! Indeed, anyone who would believe and say such things about himself has to be a lunatic. Unless, and here is another possibility, He is, in fact, God in human form. He has to be one or the other. No other rational explanation exists.
Jesus uttered those words in John 14:6. And if there is one person, whose ethics, morality, wisdom and life-giving influence can never be associated with, or emanate from, lunacy, it is He. That leaves us with only one other possibility. His words are true. And He is God with us.
Here are three life-changing facts based on His statement:
1. If you want to have a relationship with God, you have to believe in Jesus. No other man, means, or method exists.
2. If you want to know and experience truth, or reality, you have to know and experience Jesus. He is reality and the revealer of all things that can ever be known about God and about life.
3. If you want to enter into and partake of God’s life, you have to come to Jesus. He is the only one who can give it to you. And He will, if you believe.
“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10 NKJV)
He gives life in abundance–that is a rich and satisfying life, life overflowing, life in all its fullness. But He gives much more–He gives Eternal Life, God’s own life, to you!
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16 NKJV)
Eternal Life is the one thing everyone needs. Without it, the forgiveness of sins would only be a license to sin. Without it, Satan would continue to rule the hearts of men. Without it, evil triumphs, good loses. Without it, you perish.
Eternal Life makes dead men live. Eternal Life changes sinners into saints. It turns servants into divine sons. Eternal Life imparts Righteousness to the human spirit, giving men the right to be called the children of God and to stand in His presence without guilt or inferiority. And to stand before demons without fear or intimidation.
Those who trust in philosophy, metaphysics, rituals, or religion are deceived. It is Jesus they need. It is Jesus you need. It is Jesus I need.
Do you have Him? And as importantly, does He have you?
