Thoroughly Blessed
Galatians 3:13-14 reveals a curse-destroying, blessing-producing truth. “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the Law by becoming a curse for us…that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles and we might receive the promise of the Spirit by faith.” Consider what these verses mean.
“I curse you, Jesus,” God said to His beloved Son. “I command every curse belonging to sinners to come upon you. I unleash upon you the fury of My wrath against sin. For the sakes of sinners, you will not be spared.”
And so Jesus became a curse for us! God poured out unmitigated judgment upon His Son as payment for our sins. Thoroughly cursed, from head to toe, every part of Jesus received the curse for our sakes.
But why? That the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles! That’s you; that’s me. Jesus received the curse belonging to us so that we might be given the blessing belonging to Him.
“I bless you, Gentile believer,” God says to us. I command every blessing belonging to My beloved Son to come upon you. I unleash upon you the fullness of my grace. I bless you from head to toe.”
And so, God has blessed us for His sake. And since the blessing must be proportional to the curse, the blessing is equally thorough. God has blessed you from head to toe!
Child of God, get up every morning, face every challenge, knowing that you are thoroughly blessed because Jesus was thoroughly cursed. Praise Him for His grace. Then, in simple faith, thank God as you allow your spirit, soul, and body to enjoy His blessings provided for you in Christ Jesus.
Thoroughly blessed–Oh, how I love you Lord!
Hi Bishop, I’m sure you have a hectic schedule, but I wanted to share that I look forward to reading your blogs every week. If the Sunday Sermon is the cake, then Bible study would be the icing, and the blog is the cherry on the top.
The last paragraph of this blog is a factual reminder that I, like all of us Christians, belong to God and that I shouild allow him DAILY to led the way.
Keep up the good work,
Sheba 🙂
