Jesus Is God’s Yes
Do you often wonder whether you have done enough to qualify for blessings? How many commandments do you have to keep before God will hear your prayers? How many days do you have to fast before God is convinced that He should help you? How many conditions do you have to meet before God will fulfill His promises to you?
Under the Old Covenant, we find that the standard for being blessed was to “keep all his commandments.” Listen to these words from Deuteronomy.
“If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully keep all his commands that I am giving you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the world. You will experience all these blessings if you obey the Lord your God: (Deuteronomy 28:1, 2 NLT)
Clearly, the promises of God depended on the people’s own ability to keep the commandments of God. And for that reason the promises often could not be fulfilled.
This, however, is not the case in the New Testament. Listen to Paul describe the condition for receiving God’s blessings under our new and better covenant.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, (Ephesians 1:3 NKJV)
Notice, there is only one condition to be blessed and that is to be “in Christ.”
Again, listen to Paul speak of God’s promises to those who are “in Christ.”
For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God. (2 Corinthians 1:20 NIV)
Notice, all the promises of God are “Yes” to all who are in Christ. And all that is required from the believer is to say “Amen”–that is, to agree that this is indeed so!
How many conditions, therefore, do you have to meet before God will fulfill His promises to you? Only one! The only condition you have to meet is to believe that Jesus has met all the conditions for you.
Thank God for Jesus. Truly, He’s all we need.
Let the Church say, “Amen!”
Thanks, bishop for the living of word GOD

Thank you for the great teaching Bishop, I strongly beleive that we are not blessed because of what good things we do, but we are rather blessed only because of having JESUS in us. ( my evil deeds are more than my good deeds,, Hence, where do I stand?)
Amen!
