Do You Know the Answer to this Question?
Was it Mark Twain who said the two most important days in life are the day you were born and the day you discover why? You undoubtedly know the day you were born, but do you know why? Don’t let this important question go unanswered.
Jesus was only 12 years old when He said to His earthy parents:
“Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?” (Luke 2:49 NKJV) At this very young age, He already knew who He was and why He was born. He was God’s Son and He was born to conduct Heaven’s business on earth.
We know that doing the Father’s business took Jesus to different towns and villages in Israel “doing good and healing all those who were oppressed of the devil.” Doing the Father’s business eventually took Him to the cross, the grave, the resurrection, and the throne. And, it is to do the Father’s business that He will come again with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and every eye will see Him, and every knee will bow before Him, and confess that He is Lord of lords. All of this because He was able to say at age 12, I was born to do the Father’s business, and the Father’s business I will do.
Now, how old are you? Probably older than 12! Have you determined why you were born yet? The sooner you can answer the why, the more quickly you will know the how.
But let me help you. Let me get you started in the right direction. You too are God’s child and just like Jesus, you were placed on earth to conduct Heaven’s business. So, this is where to begin, with what you already know. Start saying daily, “I am God’s child and I am about my Father’s business.” He will fill in the details.
