Can You Be Bought?

070815_Can You Be BoughtHow much does your worship cost?  Can Satan offer you enough to get you to worship him? There is nothing Satan craves more than your worship and he is willing to pay a huge price for it, but for most people he gets it real cheap. For five minutes of pleasure, they will worship him. For a few dollars, they will worship him. For a little bit of power, they will worship him.

He tried to get Jesus to do so.  Offered Him all the kingdoms of the world in exchange for it.  But  Jesus responded to Satan’s offer with an unambiguous, “No!”

“Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ” (‭Matthew‬ ‭4‬:‭10 NKJV)

With that response, Jesus settled the issue of worship and made it clear who He was going to worship and who He was going to yield His members to.  It was not going to be the unholy Satan; it was going to be the Holy God.

“Then the devil left him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.”
From that point on Jesus became an instrument in the hand of God through whom the Spirit did great things, divine things that changed people who changed the world.  When he settled the issue of worship, he placed himself in the position for God to use him mightily.

Have you settled the issue of worship?  Jesus did.   “For it is written, ‘You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ” (‭Luke‬ ‭4‬:‭8‬ NKJV)
