God Will Answer You

Do you remember when Jesus said to His disciples, “At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you: For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.”?  (John‬ ‭16:26-27‬ ‭KJV‬‬). Wow, that is an amazing promise straight from the lips of Jesus Himself!

This is what this means.  You don’t need anybody to pray for you in order to get the Father to bless you.  In fact, Jesus is saying it’s not even necessary for Him to pray for you.  God will hear your own prayers, just as quickly as He will hear anybody else’s.  He will even hear your prayers to the degree He will hear Jesus Himself.

Here is why. Because you believe in Jesus, the Father loves you and has given you the right to come to Him in Jesus’ name. Now, to “come in the name of another” is to come, as that person (legally) and not as yourself. And to be “accepted by one person in the name of another” means that person has agreed to treat you as though you are the person in whose name you have come.

Imagine the implications of this reality with regards to prayer. Every time you come to the Father in the name of Jesus, the Father will receive you as He receives the Son of God and respond to your requests as though they were coming straight from the mouth of Jesus Himself. Imagine that!

Child of God, because you love Jesus and believe in Him, God loves you with all His heart and is eager to answer all your prayers.  For this very reason, He has given you the legal right to use the name of His beloved Son every time you pray to Him.  You are one of the most favored persons alive today.

Here is the promise again.  It’s yours. Don’t let it go to waste.

“And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.” (‭‭John‬ ‭16:23-24‬ ‭KJV‬‬)

God has promised to answer you when you pray in the name of Jesus.  The only thing left now is for you to start praying, with the confidence of Jesus, that the Father will always hear you when you pray. That was His attitude, and since you are praying in His name, this should be your attitude too.  Amen!
