May You Find Rest
Undoubtedly, stress is one of the greatest contributors to many of society’s problems and the root cause of much physical and emotional pain and suffering. It can also be one of the greatest hindrances to your spiritual growth and well-being, too. Stress is simply no good–it’s toxic!
That’s why the Bible tells us in numerous places to trust God with our lives and rest in His love for us. Here are a just a few examples:
“Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” (Luke 12:32 NKJV)
“If then God so clothes the grass, which today is in the field and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will He clothe you, O you of little faith?” (Luke 12:28 NKJV)
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6 ) NKJV
“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.” (Psalms 23:1 NKJV)
Child of God, when you are tempted to worry, or when you find yourself face-to-face with multiple stress-inducing factors, remember God knows all about it and He has promised to never leave you or forsake you. He is the Good Shepherd, who lays down His life for the sheep. He is the Heavenly Father, who will withhold no good thing from His children.
So do not allow yourself to be overcome by the cares of this life. Instead of being filled with stress this Christmas, why not accept Jesus’ invitation and cast all your cares upon Him. God’s way is best.
“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” (Matthew 11:28-29 NKJV)
May you find rest for your soul in Him!
Thank you Bishop, am blessed by this teaching.
