Blessing You Is God’s Idea

Do you ever need a favor from someone but you are afraid to ask because you are not sure how he or she will respond? It can be hard to ask for help when you are uncertain about the outcome. But when it comes to God, you can be sure even before you ask that He is eager to help you in times of need.

You see, God made the decision to bless you with every blessing long before He created you. He decided to hear your prayers and shower you with supernatural provisions before you were born. While you were still in your sins, He purposed in His heart to forgive you of every one of them and treat you as a favored son forever.

“But God commended His love toward us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.”

“If God spared not His Son but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not now with Him freely give us all things?”

“But of Him are we in Christ who has been made unto us wisdom, righteousness, sanctification and redemption.”

Numerous Biblical passages like these assure us of God’s love. What they demonstrate is that God’s desire to bless us is even stronger than our desire to be blessed. What they prove is we do not need to persuade God to do us good because the idea of doing us good entered His mind before it entered ours. God does not need to be persuaded to bless us!

Then who needs to be persuaded? We do! It is we who need to be persuaded that God is committed to freely giving us all things we need for life and godliness. It is we who need to know beyond all doubt that we are blessed and highly favored with every spiritual blessing in Christ Jesus. And it is we who need to be convinced that no good thing will He withhold from us!

Child of God, get persuaded! Feed on the Word of Grace continually. Do so devotedly. And you will discover that the more persuaded you are, the more blessed you will be.

So, the next time you are struggling with believing God for a blessing, remember the thought of blessing you entered His mind long before it entered yours.

Be blessed.
