Judgment Day
Judgment Day is coming. You can read about this in the Book of Revelation. I remember how terrified I used to be to know this. But I am no longer. And here’s why.
Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire. (Revelation 20:11-15 NKJV)
That is scary stuff! And most certainly not a horror movie. God can not lie. And He’s way too good to mislead us about something so horrific.
But I am totally unafraid. The reason? Jesus’ word. “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. (John 5:24 NKJV)
This is absolutely the best news I have ever heard! I have passed from death into life. I have everlasting life. I shall not come into judgment.
Why? Judgment Day already happened for me! Two-thousand years ago on an old rugged cross, the Son of God became the sinner’s substitute. Justice showed Him no mercy. Now justice is satisfied. The price for my sins is paid in full.
So, I have no reason to be afraid any longer. Judgment Day, for me, is in the past, not in my future. It already occurred, in Jesus, on a cross. And for this reason, you will find my name now in the Lamb’s Book of Life!
This is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. All who believe in Him have passed from death into life and shall not come into judgment.
Have you received this gift yet? It’s free to all who believe. And it’s as simple as asking Jesus now to be your Savior and Lord.
