Extreme Generosity

121015_Extreme-GenerosityBill Gates has already given $28 billion dollars to charity, Warren Buffet $9 billion, while Mark Zuckerberg has pledged to give 99% of his wealth away. Impressive generosity. Yet, nothing compared to God!

He who did not withhold or spare [even] His own Son but gave Him up for us all, will He not also with Him freely and graciously give us all [other] things?” (Romans‬ ‭8:32‬ ‭AMP‬‬)
God is the Greatest Giver, ever. No one comes even close. God’s generosity is not quantifiable. It is beyond human comprehension.

God could have given all the stars, and there are trillions and trillions of them, and this would not be as much as He did when He gave His only begotten Son. He could have added all the planets, and included all His angels, and yet it would be far less than what He did when He gave Jesus. That’s because God could have re-created and replaced every planet, every star, and every angel, but not even God could create another Jesus and replace “His only begotten Son!”

Imagine this! When God gave Jesus, He gave the one gift He could never replace. He gave His best, His only, His all. He did not even spare His only begotten Son but gave Him up for us.

God’s extreme act of generosity makes it almost appear as though God loves us even more than He loves His Son. Absolutely mind-blowing! But this is, nevertheless, the truth. That is how extreme God is in His generosity. I guess He can’t help Himself. He is LOVE, perfect LOVE, and this is what LOVE does.

In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us. ..” (Ephesians‬ ‭1:7-8‬ ‭NIV‬‬)

God does not just give grace, He “lavishes” it upon you. That means He “lacks restraint” when it comes to giving. He is “wastefully extravagant” because He is never content to give you only what you need. He always over-supplies because He blesses “according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (Phil. 4:19)

Child of God, as you celebrate Christmas this year, and every year hereafter, keep the love and generosity of your Heavenly Father in mind. Take time to reflect on God, the Greatest Giver and Jesus, the Greatest Gift. Let His love and generosity fill you with confidence that you will lack for no good thing. And remember to let it move you to be a channel through whom His love and generosity can flow to others in abundance.

Thank God for His Unspeakable Gift!

(If you are reading this but you have not yet received the Greatest Gift ever, why not do so right now? It’s as simple as acknowledging your sinful condition and inability to help yourself and with child-like trust, believing Jesus suffered and died for your sins and asking Jesus into your life as Lord and Savior. You can do so now and receive forgiveness for all your sins and the blessing of everlasting life.
Please let me know if you have chosen to receive Jesus as Savior. We want to pray for you and provide you with further help as you begin this new life.)
